Hello and welcome to the very first edition of our newsletter! At Untamed Horse Tack, we’re beyond excited to finally connect with you — our amazing community of horse lovers, riders, and consignors. Each month, you can look forward to updates, new arrivals, store stories, and fun ways to get involved.
You may have noticed we’ve been a little quiet over the past month — and trust us, it’s been for a very exciting reason! We can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on, and we’re so grateful to have you along for the ride. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey!
Meet the Owner
Hello, I’m Melissa, the proud owner of Untamed Horse Tack — a mom of two grown boys, a new grandma, and a lifelong animal lover. My husband and I live on a small hobby farm just outside Calmar, Alberta, surrounded by our seven horses, a few loyal dogs, and, like many acreage owners, some hardworking barn cats that keep the mice away.
This little consignment store became my passion just over two years ago. After my brother passed away suddenly at age 54, and as my boys were moving out — one heading to college, the other starting his own family — I realized it was the perfect time to pursue something meaningful. I saw a need in our community: for those of us living around Edmonton, Warburg, Pigeon Lake, Thorsby, Calmar, and the surrounding areas, it’s not always convenient to drive into the city for horse tack, especially when you need something quickly, like a cinch, reins, halter or a blanket during a cold snap.
My own experience inspired me — when I changed horses, suddenly none of my tack fit. I had too many items that were too big and not enough that were just right. I hated the idea of buying everything new while my perfectly good gear sat unused. That’s how the idea for Untamed Horse Tack was born. I started in September 2023 in a small 400 sq. ft. space at the Western Budget Long Term Stay, but quickly outgrew it — proof of how much our community needed a boutique consignment store like this. After only one year, I moved into our current location, which is just shy of 1,400 sq. ft. For those who have visited recently, you’ll know I’ve managed to fill this new space as well!

✨ We’re Changing Our Name! ✨
Untamed Soul Horse Tack Consignment is officially becoming Untamed Horse Tack.
Over the next few weeks, you’ll start to notice updates to our name, logo, and branding across the store, website, and social media. While our look is evolving, our heart hasn’t changed — it’s still the same great service, the same quality tack, and the same passion for our horse community, just with a fresh new name and look.

This was no easy task — moving over 3,000+ items took a lot of time and care. If you notice anything that doesn’t look quite right, please feel free to reach out.
What I’m most excited about: real-time shipping!
What does that mean for you? Simply add your items to the cart, enter your shipping address, and your shipping cost will be calculated instantly before checkout — with multiple shipping options to choose from! This has been a long-time goal, and I couldn’t be more excited to finally roll it out!
As always, you can still pre-order online and choose convenient in-store pickup if that works best for you!

We’ve added some great new finds this week — take a look at just a few of the latest treasures that have arrived in store and online. These pieces won’t last long, so be sure to check them out on the website or stop by to see them in person!

As a loyal subscriber, you’ll receive an email each Thursday when new items are added. We’ll also do our very best to share as many of these new Tack Treasures as possible on our Facebook page, so be sure to follow along there too!

To help keep our inventory fresh and balanced, here’s what we’re actively looking for right now:
- Used pony tack
- Western headstalls
- Western reins
- Lunge lines
- Lead lines
- Kids’ riding boots (all sizes)
- Rain sheets (all sizes)
- Fly sheets (all sizes)
- Western saddles with a 16” seat in the mid-range price point
🚫 Items We Are Not Accepting at This Time
Due to limited space and current inventory levels, we are not accepting the following items at this time:
- Older saddles
- Clothing and jeans
- All English tack, including breeches
- Stable sheets
- Winter blankets
Our racks are currently full in these categories, but we’ll be sure to update everyone as space opens up.
✨ Community Feature ✨
Our first community feature this week is Sheri Brydges, owner of All Inclusive Equine.
Sheri is a skilled saddle fitter and equine therapist who is passionate about helping horses move comfortably and perform at their best. Through her work, she focuses on proper saddle fit, balance, and overall equine well-being, helping riders find solutions that support both horse and rider.
In addition to running her own business, Sheri is also an amazing and valued member of the Untamed Horse Tack team. With her many years of hands-on experience working with horses, she brings a wealth of knowledge, care, and professionalism into the store every day. When working with Sheri, you can expect the same great service, honesty, and support you’ve come to know and trust at Untamed Horse Tack.
If you’re looking to have your saddle repaired, All Inclusive Equine has partnered with a reputable saddle repair company, offering convenient saddle drop-offs right here at Untamed Horse Tack. Sheri’s dedication to horses and our community truly makes her a fantastic resource.
